چکیده

This paper focuses on the centdian problem in a cactus network where a cactus network is a connected undirected graph, and any two simple cycles in the graph have at most one node in common. The cactus network has important applications for wireless sensor networks when a tree topology might not be applicable and for extensions to the ring architecture. The centdian criterion represents a convex combination of two QoS requirements: transport and delay. To the best of our knowledge, no efficient algorithm has yet been developed for constructing a centdian node in a cactus graph, either sequential or distributed. We first investigate the properties of the centdian node in a cycle graph, and then explore the behavior of the centdian node in a cactus graph. Finally, we present new efficient sequential and distributed algorithms for finding all centdian nodes in a cycle graph and a cactus graph. The robust vertex centdian location problem with interval vertex weights on general graphs

In this paper, the robust vertex centdian  location  problem with uncertain vertex weights on general graphs is studied. The used criterion to solve the problem is the min-max  regret criterion. This problem  is  investigated  with objective function contains $lambda$  and  a polynomial time algorithm for the problem is presented. It is shown that the vertex centdian problem on general graphs i...

Simple Necessary Conditions for the Existence of a Hamiltonian Path with Applications to Cactus Graphs

We describe some necessary conditions for the existence of a Hamiltonian path in any graph (in other words, for a graph to be traceable). These conditions result in a linear time algorithm to decide the Hamiltonian path problem for cactus graphs. We apply this algorithm to several molecular databases to report the numbers of graphs that are traceable cactus graphs.

Split-Decomposition Trees with Prime Nodes: Enumeration and Random Generation of Cactus Graphs

In this paper, we build on recent results by Chauve et al. and Bahrani and Lumbroso, which combined the splitdecomposition, as exposed by Gioan and Paul, with analytic combinatorics, to produce new enumerative results on graphs—in particular the enumeration of several subclasses of perfect graphs (distance-hereditary, 3-leaf power, ptolemaic). Our goal was to study a simple family of graphs, of...

Computing the clique-width of cactus graphs

Similar to the tree-width (twd), the clique-width (cwd) is an invariant of graphs. A well known relationship between tree-width and clique-width is that cwd(G) ≤ 3 · 2. It is also known that treewidth of Cactus graphs is 2, therefore the clique-width for those graphs is smaller or equal than 6. In this paper, it is shown that the clique-width of Cactus graphs is smaller or equal to 4 and we pre...
